About three weeks ago I found out I was allergic to dairy, eggs, gluten, wheats, peanuts, the list goes on. It’s been a weird transition, just in the little things. My breakfasts are almost a vegan meal. Any pastries I make or buy are vegan and gluten free. I can’t eat any prepackaged foods or even meals from restaurants.
While, in whole, this eating style has been healthier, and many who know me know my love for nutrition, it’s still been a difficult transition.
I’ve struggled with my weight my entire adult life. Even while eating spinach smoothies, salads, and working out, my body wasn’t responding to my efforts.
Until my acupuncturist offered me a blood-based allergy test. Since then, my body has been shedding the weight. I’ve felt lighter, my body isn’t holding onto water weight.
If you’re struggling to lose weight and you can honestly say you’ve put in the effort, I would highly recommend an allergy test. You may be eating foods that are incompatible with your body, sending your immune system into a flight or fight mode. With your body unable to process the food, or even allowing it to digest, you could be holding onto unwanted pounds.
I’m excited to see where this lifestyle change takes me. And I’m hoping I’ve inspired at least one person to really be in tune with their health and body.
