Who We Are
Oils + Airplanes is a blog started by Paige Dillon, 27.
Paige is a travel enthusiast who has been to Italy several times, all up the east coast (Savannah, GA, being one of her favorite stops), Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming where she hiked and backpacked for three weeks (and had a buffalo pee on her tent), Utah (where her essential oil obsession started), Texas (where our blog starts), and Bali!
In Bali, Paige studied Reiki, a form of energy healing. In May 2017, Paige began massage school. Her background is currently in Ancient History, which she majored in at Randolph Macon College in Ashland, Virginia and in retail, as a Visual Manager at Talbots for several years. Currently, she is working for Target full time as a visual merchandiser while building her business on the Eastern Shore as a massage therapist.
After a brief stint as an insurance underwriter, she realized the corporate world wasn't for her. Sitting in her cubicle, she looked across to her cubicle mate. Similar age, the man showed up 30 minutes early to work, left 30 minutes late, ate lunch at his desk, and took a "vacation" because he had to use his vacation time and stayed home. With no kids, no significant other, and nothing holding her back, Paige packed up her desk the next week. She couldn't imagine a life stuck in a box with no sunlight. This was the beginning of her story and the start to an amazing life.
Her version of an amazing life comes with travel, constant learning, and not being afraid to be her true self. She studies subjects and where from merchandising to life coaching, and is open to all subjects.
Recently, Paige has entered a world where autoimmune diseases seem to be the norm. A boyfriend with gastroparesis, one best friend suffering from psoriatic arthritis, another with fibromyalgia, and herself with undiagnosed celiacs and EOE. Its become her mission to learn about autoimmune diseases and the nutrition plans that help ease the symptoms.
Paige has a weird obsession with cemeteries (her favorite so far being Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, Virginia), uses lime essentail oil in her guacamole, is into astrology, appreciates a good caramel latte, and loves her Brittany, Miles (who is named after a local river in Maryland).
